Dale Goffigon, "Two Chairs," archival pigment print on cotton rag paper (Carrie Haddad Gallery)

It all started in 1991, when Carrie Haddad opened the first art gallery in Hudson on Warren Street.

Originally from San Francisco, Haddad has always been involved in the arts, though not strictly visual art. She took dance classes in New York City and opened a clothing store there, where she met countless artists.

After moving to the Hudson Valley, she opened what was then called Warren Street Gallery, which was cooperatively run for the first year.

Now, 25 years later, Haddad's gallery has represented nearly 100 artists working in numerous mediums, including photography, sculpture, painting and mixed media in seven annual exhibitions.

While she still represents local artists, Haddad also works with creatives from around the world.
