Greg Decker is an artist from New York City who recently moved to Asheville, NC to begin his own series of workshops in traditional painting. He is a figurative painter, producing oil paintings which are often ‘mythical’ in content, as well as portraits and still lifes. Greg holds two Master of Fine Arts Degrees, one from Cranbrook Academy of Fine Art, and one from the New York Academy of Art, and has studied at Oxford University in England. In New York, he taught with MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he specialized on drawing in the galleries.

Douglas James Maguire’s
landscape paintings celebrate the classic territory of the Hudson River Valley and the Catskills Mountains. It is familiar grounds for the local resident, art historian and art lover. Maguire sees the land and paints much like the artists of the Hudson River School.

David Eddy is a self-taught contemporary artist. His art career began in April, 1995 when a well known artist saw some of his drawings, encouraged him to paint and supplied him with materials. With a body of work that is vibrant, thematic and accomplished, Eddy has mastered a unique palette, texture and quality of marks in the compositions. The New York Times has described his work as notably reminiscent of Paul Klee's work. David Eddy was born in Troy, NY in 1949. He grew up in Mahwah, NJ, attending Mahwah High School, Kimball Union Academy, and Lehigh University. He was a self-employed roofing contractor for 25 years, spending winters in Barbados and the Caribbean Islands. He now lives in West Stockbridge, MA.
